Skiing and snowboarding are the two top winter activities here in Morzine and the resort has become popular especially with families as the slopes here are great for beginner skiers and snowboarders. If you want a more challenging run then you can access one or more of the other ski resorts that make up the Portes du Soleil. Avoriaz is nearby and easy to access from Morzine for example.
Though popular with the families Morzine does also have a vibrant nightlife for all those skiers and snowboarders who want to enjoy some après-ski, so don’t think this is just a sleep village!
Summer Activities in Morzine

You can also get out on a mountain bike, and for serious mountain bikers Morzine is actually one of the top destinations in Europe. There’s plenty of downhill mountain biking in the Portes du Soleil region, but Morzine is definitely at the centre of this, and from here you can easily access numerous other mountain biking trails. Several can be accessed directly from Morzine by chairlift and cable car, so this really is a great place to base yourself.

When Should You Visit?:
Winters in Morzine are perfect for enjoying those winter sports as there’s usually a good amount of snow here. Temperatures are obviously cool, but not harshly so. Spring is often the quietest time as the snow is melting and it’s not yet good enough for hiking and mountain biking but by the summer warm and sunny weather makes it ideal.
