Bellevue Flights:
Flights to Bellevue
Bellevue is a city in the US state of Washington, in the Puget Sound region. It is a city in its own right but this booming community is often considered a suburb of the larger Seattle, just across Lake Washington. Bellevue is French for ‘beautiful view’ and the city certainly does have some great scenery surrounding it.
Since Bellevue is just outside Seattle, the nearest airport is the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport or Sea-Tac Airport as it’s often known (airport code: SEA). Flights to Bellevue are usually 1-stop when you travel from Johannesburg. Virgin Atlantic connects once in London, and so does British Airways. A flight with Air France goes through Paris, and United Airlines goes a different route through Singapore. Depending on the airline you fly with, the total flight to Bellevue will take anywhere between 26 and 30 hours.

The Tourist Attractions in Bellevue:
Bellevue is a growing city, attracting thousands more newcomers to live and work here every year, and although it’s not yet firmly placed on the tourist map there are several nice attractions to visit in Bellevue.
Bellevue Arts Museum
Located in downtown Bellevue the Bellevue Arts Museum is set within a purpose built building that features some quite striking architecture. Unlike many art museums around the United States, the Bellevue Art Museum does not have a permanent collection but instead features interesting temporary exhibitions and offers classes and workshops for those interested in learning artistic skills.
Bellevue’s Other Museums
In addition to the art museum Bellevue has a couple of other museums to offer. The Rosalie Whyel Museum of Doll Art is one and it contains over a thousand dolls, making this one of the largest doll collections in the world.
Bellevue Square
Just across the street from the Bellevue Arts Museum is the city’s large shopping mall, called Bellevue Square. If you want to enjoy some North American shopping then this is an excellent place to do so, featuring 180 retail stores that include big names like JCPenney, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Apple, Lego and more this mall also has children’s play areas and restaurants.
Bellevue Botanical Garden
With daily opening, and no admission fee, the Bellevue Botanical Garden is a popular attraction in the city. Set over 36 acres the gardens include themed areas such as the Yao Garden (Japanese themed), Lost Meadow Trail, the native discovery garden, water-wise garden, and more. If you’re here over the Christmas period visit the Bellevue Botanical Garden and enjoy the Garden d’Lights Christmas Lights when lights are used to three dimensional effect to create animal and plant sculptures.
When Should You Visit?:
Like neighbouring Seattle, Bellevue has an oceanic climate verging on Mediterranean. The summer is the driest time of year, particularly June to September, and these are also the warmest months. Temperatures are not hot, but usually pleasantly warm, with average highs around the mid 20’s C, though the odd days can be a lot warmer than this. The winter is quite wet and temperatures are cool. In January the average high is less than 10C and sometimes rainfall will turn to snow, so this isn’t the best time to visit Bellevue.
