Whether you come in the winter or the summer, here are some of the activities you can participate in when on holiday in Saalbach…
Saalbach-Hinterglemm Ski Resort
As part of the Kitbuhel Alps there are some great mountains for winter sports here in the Saalbach region. There are actually three main skiing areas, Saalbach, Hinterglemm, and Leogang and they come together to form an extensive number of ski runs. There are numerous chair lifts to get visitors up the slopes and once there you can make use of 200 kilometres of pistes that includes 15 kilometres of black runs, 95 kilometres of red runs, and 90 kilometres of blue runs, so there’s something for all levels.
The valley in which Saalbach sits has slopes on either side so you can choose the sunnier south-facing side of the valley, or if you’re coming later in the season the north-facing side is probably better as the snow will remain here for longer.
After a day on the slopes you can have fun enjoying the great après-ski of Saalbach. The resort town is renowned for being quite a party town so there are plenty of places to go for drinks and an entertaining night out!
Zell am See
Whether you’re visiting Saalbach in the summer or the winter you should spend some time in the closest major town, Zell am See, about 20 kilometres away. There are lakeside walks, or take off on a hike into some of the surrounding mountains for some truly spectacular views and scenery.
